TAKEN WHERE? [IV]
TAKEN WHERE? [IV] - OCTOBER 3RD, 2023
Luke 17:37
[37] And they answered and said unto him, Where, Lord? And he said unto them, Wheresoever the body is, thither will the eagles be gathered together.
There are several Greek words translated as “Taken” and I want us to examine a few of them.
1) συνέχω (sunechō) G4912
To be ‘taken with’ : To forcefully keep in or restrain. To be in a strait, held by sickness or affliction.
2) ἀπαίρω (apairō) G522
Simply means to ‘take away’, to remove by lifting up.
3) αἴρω (airō) G142 is a primary verb, related to apairo.
4) παραλαμβάνω: paralambanō G3880
This is where our attention is drawn. This paralambano is what appeared as “TAKEN” in our text.
Luke 17:34
[34]I tell you, in that night there shall be two men in one bed; the one shall be taken (PARALAMBANO), and the other shall be left.
What Is the definition of PARALAMBANO?
Definition: From G3844 and G2983; to receive near that is associate with oneself (in any familiar or intimate act or relation); by analogy, to assume an office; figuratively to learn: receive take (unto with).
(Copied from a notable bible study dictionary.)
Now, it says it is to ASSOCIATE WITH ONESELF, TO LEARN, TO ASSUME A CERTAIN OFFICE.
Therefore, those “TAKEN” in Luke 17:34-36, were taken into INTO an association with THE CARCASE (BODY), which is the freshly killed meat or revelation.
Luke 17:37
[37] And they answered and said unto him, Where, Lord? And he said unto them, Wheresoever the body is, thither will the eagles be gathered together.
To say that this gathering is unto destruction is a clear sense of deadness of the mind.
Saints, let us be careful and not be in a hurry when dividing the word of truth. It must be rightly done in truth and in love.
The grace of Jesus Christ be with you all. Amen.
SHALOM!
